Yes, it begins with an image, so let me begin. There is much to say, but only one image. One image, but many thoughts. Let me begin.

Stars One
There is another star. You can’t see it from here, but you know it shines in the distance. It’s a lighthouse. It shines the way. It reveals danger. Fly on now. Look out into the sky and watch the beams sweep across the universe. They sweep and count the seconds, but what is a second here? A second is only a measure of time, and time is irrelevant. Too long ago you gave up time. There is only onward, and the beat of your wings, and the pulse of the star.
Stars Two
Imagine for a moment—you are flying over the clouds on the darkest of nights. Stars shine out above you, but the light is too weak to illuminate. Your wings are tired, and your heart is cold. Frost covers your feathers and there is ice in your pinions. You've traveled so long your wings are stiff, but you have farther to go. Somewhere in the distance there is light, but from here, you cannot see it. There are only stars, and ice in the clouds, and cold.
Stars Three
There are fewer stars here, but travel on. The light seems to have darkened, but has not. It has shone steadily, but you have wandered far. The light is strong, but does not reach you. Your way is on, though all seems dark.
Stars Four
Maybe you could just fall in there. You know, you could dip your wings in those pools and feel the light wash over you. There are many, but they are few and far between. They are gold. They are silver. They are the colors of the rainbow, and if you could see the spectrum, you would see one is helium, one is oxygen, one is hydrogen. You could look them in the face and see what they are made of. You could have your choice, though all are good.
You know, you could just stop.
If you saw the spectrum, perhaps you would see the black hole and avoid it. But no, you are not in that danger anyway. The black hole cannot consume you, for its horizon is beyond you.
No, you are not in danger.
But you may bathe if you wish.
Stars Five
Fly. Fly
through the night. Fly through the worlds.
Drift
between what was and is, though your destination calls you across light years.
There is farther to go, but time to arrive. Drift through these light years for
a moment and give your wings a rest.
Fly now,
between here and there. Above is one world, and below another. One is created,
one is inspired. They linger there in the air as you fly. They linger as you
do, busy with their work, yet pausing. They hang for one moment in the sky and
on the earth. They hang, exact representations. As many stars above as below,
yet how could you know those stars? You wander the border between twin
universes, and they linger with each other.
Both
universes hold the stars and the galaxies. Both contain light. They spread out
above and below, guiding you. If you knew the dance of one, you would know the
dance of the other. But you do not. You have flown for too long to study the
stars. You have flown alone. You lifted your wings at the coming dawn and flew
out into the night. You flew to this land between worlds and here you remain.
All you know is a voice. A voice calls you through these stars, guiding you by
a narrow path, and you listen.

When Clouds Cry
Lift your wings. Wings will take you away. Away into the sky where you will be safe. Safe from the worries below. Safe from your troubles. Safe from your fears.

Gold and Silver
It
begins with an image. Imagine yourself falling, falling through the world
toward the river of molten gold. Fall through the air, breathing in the chill
of winter, breathing in the cold, breathing in the snow on the breeze. Fall
through the air, a rocket out of the sky, falling from your nest in the clouds,
plummeting to the earth.
Look
down and see. See the earth reflecting the light. Light flows from the
windows man has made, it illuminates that which has ever been dark, bringing sight to the animals of the night, to you. Close your eyes as you
fall. Close them and feel the wind on your feathers, flatten them against
your skin, lying your ears flat against your head.
Imagine
the people below you. Dream of them as you fall. Dream of their lives, their
wanderings, their hopes and fears. Dream of the way the world was meant to be.
Dream of the darkness of night, the silver moon above you which no longer
shines. No longer does the moon shine here, in this light the man has made.
