Fighting Death

I don’t know much about death, because I am a tree, but I would like to let you know—death isn't a thing anymore.

Many people battle things. They battle the fears of their hearts. They battle stress and anxiety. They battle a bad hair day. They battle the things before them. They battle diseases and heartbreak. They battle the darkness that seems so dark they will never see the light. They battle themselves, they battle others. People battle and get stronger.

Some people battle diseases. They battle diseases and the disease pushes them toward death. It pushes them to a place they have never gone, to a place they can only go once. It pushes them beyond the hope of their family and friends. It pushes them away.

But in the worst case, the disease does not win. The disease strengthens the person and the person makes the leap from life to life. The person crosses the finish line with flying colors. The person crosses the finish line because they had the strength to fight. But they didn't fight death. Death is not a thing anymore. It is not something that can be fought. It has already been conquered.
